Interim Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina says he will be looking to exorcise the 2010 failure of qualification to the African Nations Championship by getting it right this time around.
In an interview at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium where the team is shaping up ahead of their weekend clash against Namibia Lwandamina said his side were working on by-passing Namibia.
Lwandamina who is a week old in the Chipolopolo hot seat said the fact that Namibia beat Zambia at the recent Cosafa Castle Cup will not count in their meeting in the CHAN qualifiers.
The Zesco United coach was at the helm of the Chipolopolo when Zambia lost out on qualification to South Africa in 2010.
Zambia won bronze at the 2009 edition that was hosted by Ivory Coast and the Chipolopolo have never made it back at the CHAN.
“Definitely yes it will motivate me. We will do everything possible to get past Namibia,” he said.
He said the loss in the Cosafa to Namibia was another matter but the approach in the CHAN would be different.
“Games are different from each other, the game over the weekend is totally different so the approach will be different,” he said.
Zambia and Namibia lock horns on Saturday.
Lwandamina had a full house this morning as he plots to fell the Namibians.
